CMU Police Department's Office
Professional, Krystal Fischer,
joined the PD
in December of 2004. In March of 2005
her position was
reclassified, which resulted
in her involvement with coordinating
the department's student employment division. These duties
include hiring student employees, new hire orientation, daily
supervision, publishing monthly newsletters and organizing special
events including on and off campus affairs. In January of 2007,
her job was reclassified for a second time in recognition of
her connection with administrative interactions and duties.
Subsequent to her new responsibilities,
Krystal completed the first and second
session of the Leadership Excellence Program Sponsored by
CMU's Human Resources Department which
included eight weeks of supervision
training and two weeks of The 7
Habits of Highly Effective People. She also completed the requirements
(6 training sessions) to become a member of the CMU-STARS
program. Krystal is a current member
of NASPA, National Association of Student
Personnel Administrators, Coordinates a freshman
program during CMU's Campus and
Community Life Orientation, College Life and the Law
and is an active member of CMU's
FYE (First Year Experience) Program.
Krystal is a 2002 graduate of Mid Michigan Community College
(ABA) and
a 2007 graduate from Central Michigan University (BAA). Krystal is
currently enrolled in CMU's MSA program pursuing a Masters in Human
Resource Management with an expected graduation date
of May 2009.
Some of the other administrative duties Krystal assumes include
serving as the department's webmaster, MCOLES Administrator,
MCOLES Network Information Tracking Operator,
Notary Public,
payroll, accounting, police report preparation, internal and
external communication, employee file upkeep, coordinating
officer training and uniform/equipment
purchases, recharge and grant account reconciliation
and
various other organizational support tasks.
